Hello, friend!
HOW DID I COME TO OFFER WHAT I CURRENTLY OFFER? AS INIGO MONTOYA SO WELL SAID,
‘LET ME EXPLAIN! NO, THERE IS TOO MUCH. LET ME SUM UP.’
My name is Sarah Dennis! I have been a hobbyist photographer for as long as I can remember, but in 2018 I finally took the step to turn my passion into a profession. Since then I have done a lot of family photography, a lot of senior photography, and dabbled in newborn and wedding photography, in addition to expanding my documentary photography with my own family. I also have had several children and moved across the country, twice. What I have learned over the last several years is that while I love almost everything I have tried, I simply don't have time to do it all in this season.
Consistently, I have found that senior photo sessions are my absolute favorite. I have LOVED every single session I have done. High schoolers are in the prime of self-discovery, figuring out who they are and who they want to be. I love connecting with them and then capturing their unique personalities and passions. Every session is just so much fun. So, in this busy season of life, I have decided to pour my attention and energy into them! My recommendation, and therefore default session, is realistically about an hour and a half and includes several minor outfit changes that can be done on the go. However, I will happily adjust to meet my seniors where they are!
While I do not focus on family sessions at this point, I do know that those are also so important so I will be trying to set up a few special mini-sessions for things like Christmas cards. Keep an eye on Instagram if you are interested in those. I will also make exception for family sessions on occasion as time allows, so if that is something you really want, don't hesitate to reach out. Asking is always free!
All that being said, at the end of the day my true love in photography is documentary. I live to capture connections and moments between people. I do this on a regular basis with my own family, which can be seen on my personal instagram, and I have always dreamed of doing it for others. I have not seen a great market for that, or had many opportunities to do it for others, but I would love to experiment more with it. I picture a family hanging out in the kitchen making cookies, family picnics, friends just hanging out. There would be a small level of directing in order to capture the moments at the best angle or in the best light, but overall my goal would be to be a fly on the wall watching family enjoy being family or friends being friends. If this is something that interests you, please send me an email! I would LOVE to chat about it!
