When Kristen called me and said she had a crazy thing to ask me and then proceeded to ask if I would be willing to be her wedding photographer in two weeks in Tucson, AZ, my answer was yes. !00% yes. I would figure out the logistics. Then she added that her fiancé, Jim, had his own plane and was willing to pick up me and my family, and now this was an opportunity of a lifetime. I had been trying to figure out how to get into wedding photography, and suddenly all the stars were aligned for my first wedding. And y'all. I could not have asked for a better first wedding.
Jim and Kristen had a small wedding planned on a gorgeous ranch that they were going to call home. The wedding was set for the weekend just before the country went into lock-down because of Covid-19, but since the majority of the guests were local, the wedding was not too impacted. And it was perfect. I saw the ranch transform before my eyes under the extremely talented hand of Leah as everything she touched blossomed with pops of color and rustic accents. I saw countless beautiful moments between Jim and Kristen's kids. I saw the beauty of simplicity and the joy of people coming together to stand behind a couple they loved and supported. It was perfect, and I am so honored that I got to be the one to capture all the sweet moments that were happening from the beginning of the day to the end.
