Parking Garage Providence
I had one of my low-key dreams come true a few weeks ago when I had one of the photo-shoot-worst-case-scenarios happen. It was just before golden hour hit when I pulled into my favorite parking lot downtown to shoot some sweet urban photos of a trio from one of my favorite families. They were dressed to the nines, ready to dance their shoes off with all their friends as soon as we were done (and what shoes they were). I just get all my gear sorted and buckled onto me when it happens. Raindrops. Fat ones. A lot of them. We barely make it into the parking garage nearby before it really starts to come down, and it is very evident that this storm is going nowhere fast.
So what do we do? We pivot! And that is how the door opened for me to do an entire shoot in a parking garage. It would not have been possible, or nearly as fun, if my subjects were the amazing, winsome, good natured people that they are. It was a great learning experience for me and I hope I have the chance for more parking garage adventures in the future to try out new lighting options.
So this is a giant shout out to Lily, Kenny, and Eliza for being such good sports and I can't wait for the next one!
